Firemans Paving Contractors is pleased to announce that the Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBCS) named Firemans Paving Contractors the Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) of the Year for a second time. This award recognizes a woman-owned business that exemplifies outstanding business acumen, industry leadership, community service, and a commitment to doing business with fellow WBEs. The 2020 WBCS award was unveiled at the annual Parade of Stars Awards Gala in Dallas, Texas.

Led by President Renee Gilmore, Firemans Paving Contractors attained their WBENC certification in June 2016, and has been actively involved in WBCS ever since. WBENC certification verifies that the business is owned and run by a woman. Being in an industry that experiences high turnover, Firemans Paving retains employees in a market that is currently experiencing labor shortages. In addition, the firm has long-lasting business relationships with vendors and an 80+% customer retention rate. This past year Firemans Paving experienced more than 30% growth and projects it will continue that momentum in the years to come.
